The Story
The Story
At the end of the Orchard Road stood a weathered wooden gate.
Its sturdy oak posts had silvered with age.
Its iron hinges had been worn smooth by countless hands.
The old latch carried the polish of generations who had paused there before stepping into the fields beyond.
No one could remember who had first built it.
Only that it had always been there.
The Reader often rested beside the gate.
He greeted farmers as they welcomed the dawn and waved to travellers returning home as the evening light settled across the valley.
"A gate," he would often say,
"is more than a boundary."
"It is an invitation."
Beyond the gate stretched fields shaped by the changing seasons.
In spring they shimmered with fresh green growth.
Summer brought long days of quiet labour beneath open skies.
By late summer, the hedgerows were heavy with ripe blackcurrants, their rich, fruity fragrance carried upon the warm breeze.
Near the old farmhouse, delicate tuberose bloomed in sheltered gardens, its soft floral perfume drifting gently across the fields and mingling with the sweetness of the harvest.
The old gate quietly witnessed the rhythm of Hawthorn's life.
Children perched upon its rails while waiting for their parents to return from the fields.
Neighbours leaned against its weathered timbers to exchange news, lend a helping hand or simply watch the sun sink beyond the hedgerows.
Travellers lifted the old latch with uncertain hands.
They always found someone ready to greet them with a smile.
The Reader believed the finest homes were known not by the strength of their walls...
But by the warmth of their welcome.
As the years passed, the gate became far more than the entrance to a farm.
It became a place where friendships began, neighbours paused, and strangers were welcomed as though they had always belonged.
Before long, everyone simply knew it as The Old Farm Gate.
A place that reminded all who passed through that every welcome begins with an open gate... and an open heart.
For the Best Fragrance Experience
For the Best Fragrance Experience
Our wax melts are carefully crafted to deliver a rich and lasting fragrance. To enjoy the very best performance, consider the following:
Room Size
Larger or open-plan spaces naturally require more fragrance to fill the room. For the best scent throw in these areas, using more than one wax burner may be beneficial.
Fragrance Choice
We use the highest fragrance load our wax can safely hold. As every fragrance is made from a unique blend of ingredients, some scents will naturally be lighter or stronger than others.
Wax Burner
Your choice of wax burner plays an important role in fragrance performance. Burners that become too hot, or have only a short distance between the tealight and the melting dish, can cause the fragrance to evaporate more quickly. For the best results, we recommend using a wax melt burner with approximately 10cm between the tealight flame and the melting dish, allowing the wax to melt gently and release its fragrance gradually.
