The Story
The Story
The seasons passed gently in Hawthorn.
The Reader had settled into the quiet rhythm of life beneath the Black Oak.
Each morning he stirred the embers of his hearth, opened the door of his little stone cottage to the valley below, and watched the first light creep across the standing stones.
Then, taking up his ash staff, he disappeared into the woodland.
No one knew every path he walked.
The Reader never seemed to wander without purpose, yet he never appeared to be searching for anything either.
He simply listened to the land.
Beyond the Black Oak, where the sounds of Hawthorn faded into birdsong, lay a woodland known only to those who wandered with patient hearts.
Few ever found it by chance.
The trees grew older there.
The air grew cooler.
Even the light seemed to slow as it filtered through the towering branches.
At the heart of the woodland stood a hidden glade.
Ancient cedars watched silently over the forest floor, their broad trunks wrapped in moss as old as memory itself.
Soft ferns carpeted the earth beneath them, while shafts of golden sunlight slipped gently through the canopy, dancing upon weathered roots and fallen leaves.
The air carried the clean scent of cedarwood, rich with the quiet warmth of timber that had stood through countless seasons.
As spring gave way to summer, delicate white jasmine climbed through the undergrowth.
Its blossoms opened with the morning mist, filling the glade with a sweetness that drifted effortlessly through the ancient trees.
The floral fragrance wrapped itself around the deep, resinous cedar until the woodland seemed to breathe as one.
The Reader often sat there for hours without speaking.
He believed the glade was where the valley revealed itself most clearly.
Not through words.
Not through signs.
But through silence.
He would listen to the breeze passing through the cedar branches.
To the songs of wrens and robins hidden among the leaves.
To the distant murmur of the beck winding unseen through the valley below.
Here, he believed, the land reminded those who listened that nature had no need to hurry and no need to be understood.
It simply was.
From time to time, someone from Hawthorn would find the glade.
A shepherd troubled by a difficult season.
A child searching for adventure.
An elder carrying the weight of old memories.
The Reader never asked why they had come.
He simply invited them to sit.
Often they spoke.
Sometimes they remained silent together.
Yet, when they finally rose to leave, each returned to the village carrying something they had not brought with them.
A little more peace.
A little more hope.
A quieter heart.
Word of the hidden glade slowly spread, though no map ever marked its place.
Those who searched for it with restless minds rarely found it.
Those who wandered without expectation often did.
In time, the people of Hawthorn gave it a name.
They called it The Woodland Glade.
And for generations to come, it remained a place where the oldest trees guarded the quiet soul of the county, reminding all who entered that sometimes the greatest wisdom is found not in the words we speak...
But in the silence we choose to share.
For the Best Fragrance Experience
For the Best Fragrance Experience
Our wax melts are carefully crafted to deliver a rich and lasting fragrance. To enjoy the very best performance, consider the following:
Room Size
Larger or open-plan spaces naturally require more fragrance to fill the room. For the best scent throw in these areas, using more than one wax burner may be beneficial.
Fragrance Choice
We use the highest fragrance load our wax can safely hold. As every fragrance is made from a unique blend of ingredients, some scents will naturally be lighter or stronger than others.
Wax Burner
Your choice of wax burner plays an important role in fragrance performance. Burners that become too hot, or have only a short distance between the tealight and the melting dish, can cause the fragrance to evaporate more quickly. For the best results, we recommend using a wax melt burner with approximately 10cm between the tealight flame and the melting dish, allowing the wax to melt gently and release its fragrance gradually.
