The Reader called it the Hollow Way.

Each autumn, families followed the Hollow Way to the Gathering beneath the Black Oak.

Merchants carried baskets filled with bread and apples.

Shepherds returned from the hills with tales of the changing seasons.

Neighbours who had not met since the spring walked side by side once more.

Along the path, stories were shared long before they reached the great fire.

Strangers became familiar faces.

Children discovered new friends.

The journey itself became part of the Gathering.

In late summer, wild raspberries ripened among the hedgerows that bordered the woodland.

Their deep, sweet fragrance drifted upon the warm air.

Hidden beneath the leaves grew peppery woodland herbs, releasing their gentle spice beneath passing footsteps.

Together they filled the Hollow Way with a scent unlike any other—rich with dark fruit, softened by the woodland earth and brightened by a quiet warmth that lingered long after the journey had ended.

Many believed the old path held a quiet kind of wisdom.

Those who hurried through remembered only the distance.

Those who walked slowly remembered the birdsong echoing through the trees...

The sunlight dancing between the branches...

The scent of raspberries carried upon the breeze...
